Re:Lindström InDaHouse – by our people, for our planet
Over the past year, within the framework of Re:Lindström 2024 – Reusing Fashion Challenge, students of Óbuda University breathed new life into Lindström’s retired workwear with creative solutions; an initiative that proved highly successful.
This year the project has reached a new milestone: we launched our sustainable fashion in-house competition for the Lindström Hungarian team.

Embrace the experience – Continuing the journey of Lindström workwear
At Lindström, each garment has its own journey. As a sustainable textile service provider, we create durable, high-quality collections that can serve multiple customers over their lifecycle. When our textiles retire, they get the chance to continue their journey in new forms, through recycling. There are several practices worldwide for upcycling retired Lindström rental textiles, for example:
- We work with foundations in several countries to provide jobs for people with disabilities. They transform end-of-life workwear into unique promotional gifts, bags, key rings, and other accessories.
- Our discarded entrance mats and workwear are turned into playground flooring, insulation material, cleaning wipes, or even dog beds…
In this spirit, we encouraged our colleagues to turn sustainability into an experience and create new, usable, and inspiring pieces in two categories: garments and accessories. During the summer, 5 individual entrants and 7 teams signed up for the competition. At our autumn team-building event, Lindström Day, they presented their work. The winners were selected by a large jury, with more than 100 colleagues attending the event who voted.
Needle, thread, teamwork! Let’s see what a second life holds for our workwear
We are proud of every colleague who took part in the competition; each and every one of them came up with impressive solutions. We showcased classic and extravagant outfits, bags, baby clothes, a hat, and even a baby carrier.

The decision wasn’t easy—and there was even a tie in the garment category. So in the end, we announced three winners. Congratulations to them!
Garment category winners:
- Kriszti Szigeti & Ilona Tóth-Juhász
- Edit Molnárné Volf
Accessory category winner:
- Katalin Pálinkás

Apart from the competition, Re:Lindström is a shared experience that shows how we can act together for a circular future and symbolically reflects Lindström’s commitment to sustainability.
Re:Lindström 2025 with light-industry students
What’s next? It’s the students’ turn again! At the Rejtő Sándor Faculty of Light Industry and Environmental Engineering of Óbuda University, work is already in full swing on the creations for Re:Lindström 2025 –Reusing Fashion Challenge.
We can’t wait to see the results, and to find out whether they can surpass the pieces presented last year at the fashion show held during Lindström’s 30th Anniversary Gala.
