Workwear Flex Service supports daily work at Linnanmäki
During the season, Linnanmäki Amusement Park in Helsinki, Finland, employs hundreds of people whose day-to-day work needs to run smoothly in a busy and constantly changing environment. Lindström’s Workwear Flex Service has brought greater clarity, efficiency and control to the amusement park’s daily operations – for both supervisors and employees.
Case Linnanmäki in a nutshell:
| Challenges | Solutions | Benefits |
|---|---|---|
| Hundreds of seasonal employees, changing shifts and high annual staff turnover | Shared workwear through Lindström’s Workwear Flex Service | A flexible system that supports Linnanmäki’s seasonal workforce |
| Personal workwear was often left unused in lockers between shifts | Smart storage allows employees to collect garments at the start of each shift | Better garment use and easier optimisation based on actual demand |
| Ordering and managing workwear required a great deal of manual work | Automated workwear management supported by real-time data in eLindström | Less administration for supervisors and more time for daily operations |
| Employees need clean workwear in the right size, even when garments become dirty during a shift | Clean garments are always available and can be replaced quickly when needed | A smoother, more comfortable experience for employees |
Supporting the daily work of hundreds of employees
One of the defining features of Linnanmäki’s operations is its strong seasonality. The amusement park relies on hundreds of employees, many of whom are young, so staff turnover is naturally high from one year to the next. This places particular demands on how work is organised, including how workwear is managed.
With a large number of employees working different shifts, a system based on individually assigned workwear is not the best solution. Linnanmäki found that garments were often left unused in lockers because employees worked irregular shifts.
“Working patterns vary a lot. An employee might work one day and then not return for several days. During that time, their workwear sits unused in a locker,” Tuovinen explains.
Linnanmäki chose Lindström’s Workwear Flex Service, which is based on shared workwear and a smart storage system.
Smart storage makes workwear management more efficient
The Workwear Flex Service allows employees to collect workwear directly from the stock room at the start of their shift. At the same time, the eLindström online platform provides up-to-date data and makes the service easier to manage as a whole.
We’re now using the Flex Service for the third summer, and it has made workwear management much easier.

Previously, supervisors had to spend a great deal of time managing workwear manually. The process is now largely automated and runs much more smoothly.
Before, workwear had to be ordered separately for each employee. This involved a lot of manual work, especially in units with dozens or even hundreds of seasonal employees. The process is now much smoother.

Thanks to the Flex Service, workwear is kept in active use and the number of garments can be optimised according to actual demand. Linnanmäki actively monitors how many garments are borrowed and continues to develop the service together with Lindström.
“This model keeps the garments in constant use. It has also generated savings and allowed us to optimise the number of garments more effectively,” Tuovinen says.

Employees feel the benefits every day
Although the system benefits the organisation as a whole, its impact is most visible in employees’ daily work. Workwear is readily available, and collecting it is quick and easy.
“It only takes a minute to put on fresh, clean workwear,” says Waltteri Wickström, a ride brake operator at Linnanmäki.
Changing weather conditions and physically active work make suitable workwear even more important. When clean garments in the right size are always available, work is smoother and more comfortable. Consistent workwear also supports safety by making employees easy for visitors to recognise.
The biggest benefit is how easy it is and the fact that clean garments in the right size are always available. When something gets dirty, you can quickly replace it with a clean garment

Linnanmäki has also developed its workwear together with Lindström, based on feedback from employees.
“We’ve designed the workwear together with Lindström and tested samples before making the final choices,” Tuovinen says.
The service also makes a significant difference to supervisors by freeing up time from administrative tasks so they can focus on managing daily operations.
“Without a service like this, we would easily return to the old model, where ordering, distributing and managing workwear took more time and required more coordination from supervisors,” Mäkelä says.
Close and effective cooperation with Lindström supports the entire service and allows it to be continuously developed.
“Our cooperation with Lindström has worked really well. We meet every month to review the current situation and discuss any changes that may be needed,” Tuovinen concludes.
