UNICEF & Lindström – working together to ensure clean water
Ensuring clean water for every child.
For over a decade, Lindström has been supporting UNICEF’s Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) work in India. Every child has a right to clean and safe water, sanitation, and health.
The partnership with UNICEF Finland started in 2007 when Lindström started its operations in India. As one of the leading companies in the field of rental textiles, the use of water in the company’s own laundries is an important topic for the company. In a country like India, where fresh, clean water is a highly valued commodity, Lindström works tirelessly to ensure that it works in a sustainable manner and that not one drop is misused. In addition, treating water as a necessity to be able to offer sustainable choices for its customers, Lindström considers clean water and sanitation to be a key human right to all, regardless of gender and origin.
The partnership supports UN Sustainable Development Goals
With this collaboration, UNICEF and Lindström aim high. Lindström is joining UNICEF in the Sustainable Development Goals area 6 with the ambitious aims of achieving universal and equitable access to safe and affordable drinking water for all, achieving access to adequate and equitable sanitation and hygiene for all, and ending open defecation, all by the year 2030.
The partnership has shown that long-term collaboration can make a difference. By supporting a nationwide UNICEF WASH programme, Lindström has been part of a bigger change for millions of children in India.
