Harju Youth Centre enjoy Lindström’s design mat
The interiors of several youth centres, among them Harju Youth Centre, have designs determined by the youngsters’ themselves. In several cases, they involve their own in ideas and realise them. Young people enjoy being in spaces that look how they want them to look. The rooms should suit their hobbies. Lindström’s design mat is the perfect fit for youth centres. This enables the young people to design the patterns of the mats themselves.
The Harju Youth Centre in Helsinki organised a mat design competition and the winner designs got produced into Lindström design mats. They are now in everyday use in the youth centre. Isla Cruz, Seela Halaste and Lotta Närvänen designed the colourful blue, yellow and orange mat. They were all aged 10 or 11. The girls were full of excitement when their design, inspired by the lids of paint pots, was chosen to be turned into a real mat. The pink-toned Haaste mat design is by Melina Molin. For her, the mat will make a great reference for her forthcoming studies and work. It will also serve as a great memory when growing older.
The youngsters at Harju Youth Centre were happy to see that Lindström values their opinions. Plus, that others take their skills seriously.
