Lindström awarded “Sustainable Leader” at Bulgarian ESG Awards 2024
Lindström Bulgaria was honoured with the prestigious “Sustainable Leader” award at the Bulgarian ESG Awards, organised by ESGNews. This award recognises Bulgarian companies and organisations that have made significant commitments to sustainability and responsible long-term business practices.
The Bulgarian ESG Awards is an initiative by ESGNews.bg, a media platform dedicated to promoting the adoption of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles across various industries. The event was supported by key partners, including the Bulgarian Network of the UN Global Compact and the Faculty of Economics and the ESG Lab at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski.”
The distinguished jury, chaired by George Kremlis, Principal Adviser to the European Commission on the European Green Deal and Circular Economy, evaluated the participants. The panel included respected professionals from various fields who have been instrumental in promoting sustainability and ESG principles in Bulgaria and beyond. Their expertise ensured that the awards went to companies with true commitment to sustainable development and responsible business practices.
The award was presented by Ivaylo Georgiev, Head of Sustainability and Institutional Relations at Aurubis Bulgaria. In his speech, he highlighted the importance of sustainable development, stating: “Sustainable development means ensuring that tomorrow’s growth is not sacrificed for today’s needs. These awards are not only a reflection of current achievements but also a motivation to continue progressing on the right path.”
The Sustainable Leader Award is given to a company with a strong vision and commitment to sustainability. The winner is recognised for setting a personal example and inspiring their teams and partners to embrace sustainability as a core principle in their everyday activities. Ventzislav Boyadjiev, Managing Director of Lindström Bulgaria, expressed his pride in the recognition:
“I am incredibly proud to accept this award on behalf of our team. Our business is built on the principles of the circular economy, providing our clients with comprehensive textile services. I’ve often heard that ESG is complex and difficult to achieve, but it doesn’t have to be. Success comes through incremental steps. My advice to my colleagues is to add something daily, even if it’s just a small contribution.”
