Yrjö ja Hanna Kodit found Lindström to be the strongest option

Yrjö ja Hanna Kodit offers diverse housing solutions all over Finland. They began a collaboration with Lindström in 2018. Teija Suojanen has worked at Yrjö ja Hanna Kodit for nearly 16 years. Her role includes tasks related to staff development, engagement, recruitment, and training. One of the facilities under Yrjö ja Hanna Kodit is Eurakoti, located in the centre of Eura, Finland. It is a group home for 29 residents offering round-the-clock care for the elderly.

“Eurakoti has its heart in the right place. The environment is very cosy and homelike, and our elderly residents get to spend their time enjoying all the moments this place can offer”, Suojanen says.

The staff’s workwear plays an important role in the daily life of the group home. The work is physically demanding, so the clothes need to be flexible, breathable, and comfortable. This benefits the safety of both the employees and the residents. Suojanen notes that the appearance of the workwear also makes a big difference.

“It’s a signal for residents: this person is part of the staff. I can approach them, and they will tell me what happens next. The workwear also strongly communicates our brand image.”

When considering the new workwear, Yrjö ja Hanna Kodit went with Lindström’s services for several reasons. Lindström provided a convenient and comprehensive service where the workwear is delivered straight to the unit for staff’s use. The service also includes the maintenance of the garments.

When implementing the new collection, Lindström was tuned into any feedback from Yrjö ja Hanna Kodit: “They brought in designers as per our request, which ensured that the product was designed to meet our specific expectations.”

Suojanen is also pleased with the open nature of communication with Lindström, as it allows quickly responding to any challenges that may arise. When certain areas of improvement were identified at the national level, the partners immediately started to improve the operations together: “I think it’s fantastic that any issues are actually addressed in a decisive manner.”

In recent years, sustainability has become an increasingly important value in the operations of Yrjö ja Hanna Kodit. During the collaboration, Suojanen found Lindström to be exceptionally advanced in matters of sustainability.

“When it comes to sustainability, they are ahead of us in many ways. They had valuable solutions on how to make the most out of the new workwear and how to recycle old garments. They brought us a complete package for these things, which was yet another factor in the decision to partner with Lindström.”

According to Suojanen, good cooperation starts with how the partners interact and work things out together. In a positive environment where the parties are able to meet halfway when needed, the collaboration tends to go smoothly. This is certainly the case with Lindström, so the partnership is likely to continue well into the future.
