The new Workwear Flex: Hassle-free garment management
Managing non-personalised workwear can quickly become a headache. You need to ensure enough clean garments are available without overstocking, handle returns, and prevent last-minute shortages. All this takes time away from your main responsibilities.
That’s where the new Workwear Flex comes in. Workwear Flex 2.0 is an add-on service to Lindström workwear, designed to take the stress out of shared garment management. With its user-friendly design and smooth self-service, Flex frees up your time from tedious garment management tasks.
In this article, Milla Nygård, Business Service Operations Specialist—part of the Workwear Service cross-functional team—explains what’s new with Workwear Flex and why it matters for your business.

What’s new with Workwear Flex?
Workwear Flex is a tech-powered service designed to help companies efficiently monitor shared workwear. Nygård shares why we originally developed Flex:
We recognised the need for more visibility and traceability in shared workwear. With Flex, businesses gain more control over workwear availability, usage, and compliance—without adding extra work.

The upgraded technology behind Workwear Flex 2.0 improves the user experience at every step, while still giving you the control you need over shared workwear. The biggest update you’ll notice is the self-service check-out station, which features a more intuitive interface.
While the core service remains the same, the check-out experience is now smoother for employees. The new check-out and return stations include clear, numbered steps that guide employees through the whole process so they’ll always know exactly where to start, what to do next, and where to exit.

How the Flex service works
Workwear Flex 2.0 is ideal for companies with high employee turnover, seasonal staff, or with limited resources for managing workwear. It works best in environments with a well-functioning self-service culture, but any company with shared workwear can benefit from Flex.
If you need to provide personalised garments for a sub-group of employees, you can combine Flex with our Full workwear service. For example, a dental clinic may need personalised garments for dentists but shared workwear for nurses.
Flex 2.0 takes our digitally-supported workwear rental service one step further. “The first step toward fully digital workwear management was adding RFID tags and scanning garments at our laundries,” says Nygård. “Now, with Flex, we’re adding scanning points at customer locations, making garment tracking even more precise.”
These additional data collection points at your location—to register clean garments in use and return dirty garments for washing—show you exactly how your shared workwear moves around and who’s using it.
Getting started with Flex is easy. All you need is space for a workwear service room and keycards for the check-out station. We’ll provide all the equipment and guide you through the set-up process.

Flex in a nutshell: Less hassle, more control
With Workwear Flex 2.0, there’s no need to order new garments for every new employee or process returns when someone leaves. Clean workwear in the right size is always available. Instead of waiting days or weeks for new stock, employees can just pick what they need from the shelves. This means less admin for managers and more time to focus on your actual job.
“Our goal is to make workwear management easier for our customers,” says Nygård. “We want to provide an easy self-service solution that frees up their time so they can focus on their core business.”
“I encourage all workwear managers to try out Flex 2.0,” Nygård continues. “It provides greater visibility over shared workwear and opportunities to further optimise inventory. This means less time spent managing workwear and better control over budgets—something not typically available with full-service options.”
