Building Confidence Through Change: Silviya Georgieva’s Lindström Journey
A new beginning in the UK
When Silviya moved to the UK, she was focused on finding work and settling into a new chapter of life. One of her first interviews was with Lindström. At the time, her English was still developing, so the experience felt uncertain, and she did not hear anything straight away. In the meantime, she took on a seasonal job elsewhere.
Then the call came through an agency asking whether she was still interested in the Lindström role. She said yes, joined the production team, and started out folding garments. It was only meant to be the beginning, but it quickly became something much bigger.
Learning the business from the ground up
After around two weeks of folding, Silviya moved into stock on a trial basis. It suited her straight away because the work brought variety and responsibility. She found herself in a role where she could keep learning, adapt quickly, and get involved in different parts of the operation.
At that stage, the business itself was new to her. She had never heard of a service like textile rental before joining Lindström. But after researching before her interview, she discovered the company also operated in Bulgaria. Later, she found out that Lindström offered services where her mum works in Bulgaria. That made the business feel both familiar and strangely close to home.

Saying yes to a new opportunity
A major turning point came when Silviya was asked to cover maternity leave in customer service. It was a big step, even so, she decided to take the opportunity and see where it could lead.
That decision changed everything. What began as temporary cover became a permanent move into customer service in 2018, opening up a new stage in her Lindström journey.
“I didn’t feel confident with my English at the time, so I was really surprised to be offered the role. I decided to give it a go, and it helped me massively.”
Growing with the role
Since then, Silviya’s role has continued to develop alongside the business. While she remains part of the customer service team, her focus today is much more specialised. She now works on onboarding new customers, supporting installations, handling collection changes, and making sure the right checks and system set-up are in place behind the scenes.
Since taking on full responsibility for this area in late 2024, her role has become an important link between customer service and operations. It is a position that relies on organisation, flexibility, and a strong understanding of how everything fits together.
Her story shows that development does not always happen through one big leap. Sometimes it comes through steady progression, being open to change, and making the most of the opportunities in front of you.
Finding confidence in the workplace
One of the biggest changes Silviya reflects on is personal rather than technical. Over the years, she has become more confident in speaking up and sharing what she thinks. For her, feeling able to do that has made a real difference.
“If something matters to you, it is better to say it than keep it to yourself. Even if nothing changes straight away, being heard is important.”
She also values the people around her. What stands out most is the diversity of the workplace, with colleagues of different ages, backgrounds and nationalities working together comfortably. That mix of people, combined with a sense of familiarity and friendship, is a big part of why she still enjoys being here.
Family, Football and Time to Switch Off
Outside Lindström, Silviya enjoys spending time with her family and following Arsenal. Watching matches, going to games, and sharing that time together is a big part of family life. It is a simple but important way to relax and enjoy time away from work.

In Summary
Silviya’s career story is one of steady growth, courage, and adaptability. She joined Lindström at the start of a new life in the UK, built experience from the production floor upwards, and took on new opportunities even when she did not feel completely ready. That willingness to back herself has helped her grow into a role that now plays an important part in welcoming new customers to the business.
For anyone thinking about joining Lindström, her story is a strong example of what can happen when you are patient, open to learning, and ready to grow with the opportunity in front of you.
