Closer, faster, and ready for the future: WelderPro just got an upgrade
This autumn, our WelderPro Workwear collection entered a new chapter. The garments may look the same, but how we produce and deliver them has changed. This brings clear benefits to your business.
By relocating production closer to Europe, we can now deliver with greater speed, flexibility and reliability. The look, fit and protection remain the same, but the service behind them is smarter.
To explain what this means in practice, we spoke with four of the people leading the change: Jarmo Vahtervuo, Vice President of Procurement and Supply Chain; Inga Jaakola, Director of Supplier Management; Alessandra Gil, Head of Supply Chain; and Katriina Walliander, Product Manager.
They shared how this shift brings us closer to customers, enabling faster reactions, improved sustainability and consistent protection without compromise.

Why closer means better
With manufacturing now based in Morocco instead of China, we can react faster to demand and ensure smoother deliveries. The fit, protection and quality all stay the same.
We want to be near the markets we serve. That way, we can react quickly, deliver reliably, and better meet customer expectations.
Jarmo Vahtervuo
The main benefit for customers is improved flexibility, shorter lead times and more reliable service.
Inga Jaakola
Shorter distances and a simplified supply chain have cut lead times by up to 70%. That means fewer delays and more accurate stock planning. For you, that translates to smoother operations and garments available when you need them. This shift also helps reduce transport-related CO₂ emissions of the ready-made garments by around 50% .

Same trusted protection, built to go the distance
WelderPro continues to meet the strict protection requirements you expect. The designs, sizing and colour tones remain familiar. Any material adjustments have been carefully selected to maintain the same welding class 2 protection as earlier. As Katriina explains, maintaining those standards requires both precision and persistence:
When introducing new versions of protective garments like WelderPro, it is crucial to maintain the same high standards of protection, fit, and durability that users have come to expect. Durability was confirmed through a combination of laboratory and real-world testing to verify compliance with industry safety standards.
Katriina Walliander

A service that keeps up with your needs
As Alessandra Gil points out, shortening the supply chain isn’t just about speed, but it also reduces risks and makes availability more predictable.
The longer our supply chains are, the more risk they carry. By bringing production closer, we reduce that risk and make supply more reliable.
Alessandra Gil
Shorter lead times make it easier to manage seasonal changes, onboard new employees or respond to growing demand. We can now order in smaller batches and move faster, reducing the risk of obsolete stock and helping ensure the right sizes are available when needed.
The whole setup is more flexible. This means we can be faster and more responsive without compromising quality.
Inga Jaakola
What to expect from the transition
You may begin seeing garments made with updated materials from September 2025, particularly if certain sizes run out. The full rollout will continue into early 2026. Garments made with the previous material will remain in use until the end of their lifecycle. This is part of our commitment to sustainable and responsible service.
Our goal is a seamless transition. Availability will stay stable throughout.
Inga Jaakola
Making the change easy for customers is essential, as Katriina points out:
When customers transition to a new version of protective garments, familiarity with key features such as sizing, appearance, and protection allows them to maintain confidence in the product.
Katriina Walliander

A smarter way forward
This isn’t just about logistics. It is about building a service that is more resilient, transparent and better equipped to support your business.
We are building a supply model that is closer to our customers, both physically and operationally. That allows us to react faster, make better decisions, and serve you with more confidence.
Jarmo Vahtervuo
In short, this upgrade means:
More reliable garment availability even when demand shifts
Faster response times with up to 70% shorter lead times and improved forecasting
Around 50% lower transport-related CO₂ emissions of the ready-made garments
A shorter, more transparent supply chain with reduced risk
